How Affiliate Revenue Affects Our Content
This is the most important section, so we’ll be direct:
- Brands cannot buy positive reviews. We have never accepted payment in exchange for a higher score or a more favourable write-up.
- Our editorial process is independent. Affiliate commissions influence which products we cover (we tend to review products people can actually buy), but they do not influence our verdict.
- We have recommended against purchasing headphones that earn us higher commissions when a cheaper alternative was genuinely better.
- Review units sent by brands are disclosed at the top of every relevant review. These are returned or raffled after testing.
How to Identify Affiliate Links
Affiliate links on our site will typically:
- Point to retailers like Amazon, B&H Photo, Adorama, or brand-direct stores
- Often contain tracking parameters in the URL (e.g.,
?tag=headphonezones-20for Amazon) - Be accompanied by disclosure language like “Check Price on Amazon” or “View on [Store]”
If you prefer not to use affiliate links, you can search for the product directly on the retailer’s website. We understand and completely respect that choice.
